Anytime you have a coordinate that you are dilating using a scale factor, you multiple each part of the coordinate by the scale factor. For your question: If a dilation is centered at (0,0) with the original point (the preimage) as A(3,4) and the scale factor is 7 (which means it is an enlargement), we will find our new point A' (read as A prime) by multiplying each part of the coordinate by 7 and you will get A'(21, 28).

Just to clarify... A(3,4) is what we are dilating and the scale factor is 7, right? What is the (A) at the end of the question?07/09/19
