Find the distance that the earth travels in 15 days (in millions of miles) in its path around the sun. Assume that a year has 365 days and that the path of the earth around the sun is a circle of radius 93 million miles.

With a radius (R) of 93 million miles the circumference of earth;s orbit is

c = 2*pi*R = 584.3 million miles.

In 15 days we will travel 15/365 of the circumference or:

x = (15/365) * 584.3 million miles = 24 million miles.
