Statistician with a very good grounding in Algebra
X1 + X2 + X3 = 81.
Given that X3 = 4X1 and X1 = X2 + 9. Since X1 = X2 + 9, X2 = X1 - 9.
Rewrite the original equation in terms of X1:
X1 + (X1 - 9) + 4X1 = 81 ==> 6X1 - 9 = 81 ==> 6X1 = 90. Divide both sides by 6 to get X1 = 15.
X2 = X1 - 9 ==> X2 = 15 - 9 = 6.
X3 = 4X1 = 4*15 = 60.
15 + 6 + 60 = 81.
