This is a very tricky question. There are many variables that could sway you one way or another. When it comes to longevity, I would say all houses, just like cars can last very long if properly maintained. This could be updating to newer wiring, fixing foundation problems, regular roof replacement when needed, the list can go on and on.
Better made is more subjective. A banister that is made of ornately carved wood versus a steel banister may be considered better made. They both function the same and are made for the same purpose. Better made could be argued in either direction. Or better made could be "over designed," which would lend to longevity.
At the end, it depends on the type of building, location of building, materials used, craftsmanship, and most importantly the maintenance over the life of the structure.
