So to have an equation with solutions of -5 and 7, the equation has to have roots of -5 and 7. An easy equation that fits the criteria is: 0=(x+5)(x-7). When solved for, each part of the equation solves for -5 and 7 respectively, since -5+5=0 and 7-7=0. If you are working on finding roots for a parabola, then just change the equation to y=(x+5)(x-7).
