asked 06/20/19average rate of change
Find the average rate of change of =gx+−x33x22x from =x−1 to =x3
1 Expert Answer
The average rate of change is the slope of the straight line connecting the end points of g(x) on the interval, which I think is x=-1 to x=3. (Note the comments above about needing to rewrite the problem clearly). The endpoints are (-1, g(-1)) and (3, g(3)). Use the slope formula:
average rate of change = ( g(3) - g(-1) ) / (3 - (-1))
Now you can complete the problem yourself.
