Best value video cameras as of 2014?

I could always google lists and such but nothing can beat legitimate suggestions and reviews from video professionals. I'm looking to produce music videos in the next months/years and I need a good video camera. Here is my criteria for a good video camera : - 720p/1080p videos - Max budget is $1000 (but feel free to include cameras worth more if you think they are worthy of being included) - Doesn't need to be waterproof - Must be tripod-compatible (I'm a noob here, so I'm not sure if there are cameras that can't be attached to tripods)----------I'm not sure if these types of questions fit in VP.SE but there are software-recommendation questions and I wondered why hardware-recommendations wouldn't work as well. The best value right now is the Black Majic pocket cam. They just released a 6k versos but the 4k is actually better. It runs about 1100... The best price to get it is B & H. It is an awesome camera and for now cannot be beat. But be aware most of these cameras will require a lot of extras ... Cages. External audio,. more storage extra batteries external monitors.. you can get all that later and piece it together. There are many reviews available..
