Hi Adriana, you gotta represent the sentence symbolically. Let the first number be x, let the second number be y. "Twice a number", then becomes 2x and "three times a second number" becomes 3y. So, "Twice a number plus three times a second number is negative one" becomes 2x+3y=-1.
Do the same thing with the second sentence. You will then have two equations and two variables, so you can solve for both variables. If you're unsure of how to do that you can reply or shoot me a message!
