What statistical test should I use?

I have a control of 4 groups.
I have 24 experimental groups.

I want to know if the difference between the weight difference (from day one to the final day) of the experimental groups and the mean of the 4 control groups is statistically significant.

What is the right test to use to discover the statistical significance?

What you essentially want to know is- is the difference in the control groups significantly difference from the difference of the experimental groups, correct?

 

In this case, you have what is essentially a pre test and a post test for each group. This is a repeated measures design. For this type of design, you would likely be using a repeated measures t-test or a one-way repeated measures ANOVA (analysis of variance).
