If real estate investment is such a reliable tool for wealth building, why don't more people practice it?

Though real estate investment is a big tool for investment many people don't practice it because:

1. lack of knowledge is the first major thing. people don't have the full knowledge of the real estate investments apart from what they see in advertisements that come in televisions, newspapers etc.
2. people also feel more comfortable in investing in other things like purchasing stocks, bonds etc. as everything seem to be transparent here. but in real estate investment we dont come to know what's happening inside.
3. people also have starting problem. they dont know how to start, whom to approach etc.
4. understanding is another difficulty. it is little bit difficult to understand how investing works, about financing etc.
5. people also dont know about the realtor who works for them, their reliability, experiences, the amount of help that they can render in the entire process etc.
