Why was having a written law code a victory for the plebeians of Rome?

It encouraged the upper class to make laws that benefited them. It allowed them to overthrow the patricians and gain power for themselves. It ensured that laws were enforced equally for all social classes. It provided them with opportunities to seize power from the dictators.

No - this answer is twice Wrong. It is flat out wrong to claim the codification of law led to the overthrow of the patricians. Codification of law is about 450 BC. The Patricians continued to hold both consulships every year until 367. And I still see lots of patrician consuls holding power between 100 BC and 49, the year the civil war broke out - about 45. That is not overthrow. And there was never a seizure of power from dictators. In Rome, all dictators except Sulla served a 6 month term and then resigned. Only Sulla abused that power to stay in power for 18 months. And he was Stalin in Roman days. Can you name for me any Roman dictator before the Ides of March from whom power was seized? No, you can't. You can write me if you have any questions. I will gladly explain.
