First our Equations.......
pH + pOH = 14
pH = -log [H+], which means H+ = 10-ph
pOH = -log [OH-], which means OH- = 10-pOH
Now time for math. First let's find our pOH.....
pH + pOH = 14
8.26 + pOH = 14
pOH = 14 - 8.26 = 5.74
Now we can plug our pH and pOH values into the above derived equations to get the molar concentrations for our H+ and PH- ions
H+ = 10-pH = 10-8.26 = 5.4954 x 10-9 M
OH- = 10-pOH = 10-5.74 = 1.8197 x 10-6 M
