Genitive or σε?

I would like to know if it's okay to use the genitive case for indirect objects instead of σε. I know that it's grammatically correct, but is it colloquial or something? and morever do some people actually prefer not to use σε?

It depends where you are going to use σε. You can say: Σε παρακαλω, you cannot say: Σου παρακαλω. You can ask: Σε πειραζει? You cannot ask: Σου πειραζει? You'll have to be specific: Σου πειραζει τα μαλλια? (Does he touch your hair?) You can say:Σου δινω λεφτα (I give to you money) - Σε αφηνω μονο (I leave you alone).

In Thessaloniki people use more 'σε' even where they should use 'σου'. It is just a cute local thing like in Texas we say 'Y'all'.
