you want to use the formula y - y1 = m ( x - x1 )
m is your slope and x1 and y1 is your point.
leave the other y and x with no numbers attached in the equations and then solve for y.
ex. which equation represents a line that has a slope of 4 and passes through the point (5,3)?
y - y1 = m ( x - x1 )
y - 3 = 4 (x - 5)
distribute the 4
y - 3 = 4x - 20
add the 3 on both sides
y = 4x - 17

which equation represents a line that has a slope of 3/4 and passes through the point (2,1)?
y - y1 = m ( x - x1 )
y - 1 = 3/4 ( x - 2 )
y - 1 = 3/4x - 2(3/4) -distribute the 3/4 to x and 2
y - 1 = 3/4x - 6/4 -multiply the 2 and 3/4
y = 3/4x - 2/4 -add 1 to both sides
y = 3/4x - 1/2 -reduce the fraction 2/4
to get rid of the fraction you multiply by 4 and you would get
4y = 3x - 2
looks like it should be option 3 but you forgot and equal sign in the answer choices
