 The angle elevation from a buoy in the water to the top of a lighthouse is 68 degrees. if the buoy is 300 feet from the base of the lighthouse, how tall is the lighthouse

Draw the diagram with the angle of elevation equal to 68⁰.

Then you have tan(theta) = opposite / adjacent Plugging in

tan ( 68⁰ ) = 2.475 = opposite / 300

opposite = 2.475 x 300 = 742.5 feet
