Carlos can write 3 to 4 pages in his journal in 2/3rds of an hour. If he writes for 5 hours what a reasonable number of pages he can write in that time, The teacher says the answer is 25 to 30 hours and would like to know how that is the answer

Andrew, first find out how many pages he can write in 1 hour. Then multiply those numbers by 5.

Look at the numbers separately.

If he can write 3 pages in 2/3 of an hour, how many can he write in 1 hour?

The way to find out is to divide 3 by 2/3. When dividing by a fraction, it’s easier to multiply by the upside-down fraction. So,
