Ptotal = PHe + PNe + PAr
Total pressure = sum of the partial pressures of all gases present.
Partial pressure = mole fraction x total pressure, and since total pressure is 1.00 atm, the partial pressure of each gas is 1.00 atm x the mole fraction of each gas, or in this case, the % of each gas.
Partial pressure He = 0.50 x 1.00 atm = 0.500 atm
Partial pressure Ne = 0.30 x 1.00 atm = 0.300 atm
Partial pressure Ar = 0.20 x 1.00 atm = 0.200 atm
