Unlike most other tests, which combine scores from individual sections to yield an overall score, the GRE® keeps everything separate. That is, you receive a Quantitative score on a 130-170 scale (in 1-point increments), a Verbal score on the same scale, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0-6 scale (in 0.5-point increments). Although you will sometimes hear of people shooting for, say, a 320, there is no official composite score on the test, and the percentile scores are given per section only.
