Hi there :) Learning about space and planetary geology is such a cool topic! Scientists believe the Moon has a differentiated (not homogenous) structure, with a crust, mantle, and core, similar to Earth but super different proportionally and size-wise. The crust is about 50 km thick, and beneath it lies the mantle, which extends to a depth of about 1,700 km. The existence and size of the lunar core are less certain, but it's thought to be small and possibly partially molten, with a radius of about 20% of the Moon's radius or less. The moon is also only about the width of the United States as a frame of reference. - Sarah
