Estimating an answer can be found by rounding the number to a benchmark, or friendly number. In this case, it would be best to round each number to their nearest 10 (a number with a 0 in the ones place, such as 70, 80, 40, or 50). 75 in right in the middle between 70 and 80, so typically we round to the higher number which would be 80. 41 is closer to 40 than 50 so it rounds to 40. We can now take these rounded numbers and subtract to find the difference. 80-40=40 so Dion drove about 40 fewer miles two weeks ago than he did last week.
