Question

A chemist has three different acid solutions.

The first solution contains  acid, the second contains  acid, and the third contains  acid.

She created  liters of a  acid mixture, using all three solutions. The number of liters of  solution used is  times the number of liters of  solution used.

How many liters of each solution was used?

Answer 1

x represents the amount of 25% solution

2x represents the amount of 55% solution

60 - 3x represents the amount of 15% solution

0.25x + 0.55(2x) + 0.15(60 - 3x) = 0.30(60)
