Hi Aleajah,
If we have 200 of something and we're going to "increase" it -->
We need to ADD.
And remember, we still have our original 200 -->
So we need to add 200 (PLUS) 130-percent of 200 -->
And remember, "percent" means "per 100" so --->
Since we started with 200, we want to ADD 130 "per 100" of 200 -->
So we multiply 200 times 130/100 (130 per 100) -->
(200)(130/100) ---> we get 26,000/100 = 260
SO 130 percent of 200 = 260
(REMEMBER THOUGH: we still need to add that 260 to our original 200) --->
200 + 260 = 460
So "200 increased by 130 percent" will always be 460.
