Hi! I would select the image that is inside the clipping mask by clicking a couple of times on the masked photo. You only need to have the image once in Illustrator. Select Image > Object > Image Trace > then go to the advanced Image Trace settings on the right side of the screen > High Fidelity Photo > Expand. The image should look the same as it did when you started once you click out of the image. It should still be in its mask. Then I would select the image > Object menu > Repeat > Radial. Here you can drag the arrows on the circle to decide how many instances you want (6) and where the radial repeat starts and ends (bottom half of the circle).
The other thing you could do would be to make a plane rectangle > Object menu > Repeat Radial > drag arrows to modify it to the spacing you want. Then paste your images 6x onto the template you have just created.
