Reading Ancient Greek Texts through Conversing in Ancient Greek
Man, a being in search of meaning
ὡς ἔμοι δοκεῖ ὅτι δυνώμεθα εἰπεῖν ταύτην τὴν φράσιν ἑλληνιστὶ τόδε
(It seems to me that we may be able to say this phrase in Greek like this):
1. ἄνθρωπος, ὁ ών ζητεῖ εὑρίσκειν τὴν ὑπόνοιαν (hidden thought/meaning) ἐν τούτῳ τῷ βίῳ
ἤ
2. ἄνθρωπος, ὁ ών ζητεῖ εὑρίσκειν τὴν σημασίαν (meaning) ἐν τούτῳ τῷ βίῳ
(Note: I have no idea why that Chrome message is blocking my face; could not get rid of it... my apologies.)
