Let's remember that if you add or subtract a constant: 2 to each values in the data set, it doesn't change change relative standard deviation or the coefficient of variation. However, if you multiply each value in the data set by a constant:2 , the standard deviation will change by √2 . Since the coefficient of variation is the ratio of standard deviation to the mean, this ratio will also be multiplied by √2.
