I would recommend sticking with Adobe Photoshop for the main reason being that Aperture is a discontinued computer program. This means that it will not support new files codecs (if shooting in RAW) or receive any new security or bug fixes. It does support plugins, however, many are not free and will require that you purchase them. (Although, I do not believe you can purchase the full version of Aperture or associated plugins anymore as it is discontinued). I completely understand that Adobe Photoshop has a steep learning curve and would either suggest finding a tutor to help you learn the ropes or search for alternative programs. If doing non-destructive editing, I would suggest trying Adobe Lightroom as it is really user friendly.
