Outside of North America, the Seven Years War is referred to by its prospective locations:
French & Indian War 1754-1763 (British and American)
Silesian Wars 1756-1762 (Prussia and Austria)
Pomeranian War (Sweden - Pommerska kriget )
War of the Conquest (French Canada - La guerre de la Conquête)
Carnatic Wars (India)
The British Empire was drastically changing it's territory at this time and different tactics were used in different locations. In the wake of Britain's territorial expansion Sir George Macartney observed that Britain now controlled "a vast Empire, on which the sun never sets."
EXTRA CREDIT:
It was first referred to as the "Seven Years War" within 20 years of its end in Critical Review of 1787, which discusses Captain Tielke's history of the Prussian, Russian, and Austrian conflicts of 1756-1763. The article refers to this history as "what has been styles, the seven years war."
