You will need to set up an equation. First you see what you are given and what the question calls for
Facts: 5 fiction, 6 nonfiction, 11 total
Question: how many nonfiction, if you have 66 total.
nonfiction = 6 = x
________ __ __
Total 11 66
You can cross multiply and solve for x. So 6 times 66 equals 11x, then 396 = 11x and then divide each side by 11. Finally, x =36. Which means 36 books are nonfiction.
