a) The total time worked was 1  1/2 + 3/4 + 2  1/4 + 6 = 1  1/2 + 3 + 6 = 10  1/2 hours

 

10  1/2 hours * 4.20 each hour = 10 * 4.20 + 1/2 * 4.20 = 42.00 + 2.10 = $44.20

 

b) If he earned 37.80 last week, he worked 37.80/4.20 = 9 hours last week

 

c) If he earned 56.00 this week and worked 13 hours, he earned 56.00/13 = 4.307 = $4.31 per hour
