How does the Analytical Writing section differ from the Writing section of the TOEFL iBT® Test?

As the name suggests, the GRE analytical writing is more "analytical", requiring more higher level critical thinking. The key in writing both good issue and argument essays is to demonstrate that you have the critical thinking ability. For example, issue essays are mostly about finding faults in logical reasoning & it's very easy because GRE only tests on a small number of logical loopholes that you can master by looking at 10-20 sample questions. Regarding arguments, an exemplar essay should start with a concession, and then outline 3 reasons for your stance. Again, it is demonstrating critical thinking.
