Is Science about Truth or Adequate Models?

Is it the general view amongst philosophers of science that science isn't about truth but rather adequately predictive models and therefore it doesn't make sense to speak of a scientific theory as true so much as an adequate model of the evidence?

Well, this is like saying < there is no truth and that's the truth

It is about Truth and to discuss in ANY way your question, you have to be using some metaphysical theory.

When you speak of laws in Physics you are assuming that things of a certain nature act a certain way. A giraffe is not a flower and the nature of each gives rise to what we can or can't say about each. We needn't have the whole truth to see correctly want we do see.
