Hey there.....There are different ways to expand your vocabulary. One way is to learn synonyms for words that you feel are ordinary or boring. Synonyms are words that have the same or nearly the same meaning as another word. You can learn words that are descriptive in nature - words that describe people, places, or things (adjectives). You can learn more vivid verbs to use when writing or speaking. First, make a list of new words to use - then practice using them in sentences or when you speak to someone. Practice role playing with a friend or family member. Practice so using these new words will become automatic when you are speaking. Practicing will also help you become more confident when having a conversation with someone. Think about what you want to say, take a deep breath, and then begin to speak slowly. When I work with students, especially my ESL students, we practice having different English conversations, about various topics. Practice really helps people become more confident when they speak. Hope this helps you!
