Several questions about using spatial data?

1. If you have spatial data for SQL server, can you use the spatial data (both geometry and geography) in another application for instance ESRI ArcGIS? 2. Is spatial data a standard that every GIS application can use it? For instance same spatial data can be used for SAGA-GIS, ESRI ArcGIS, Oracle Spatial, PostGIS without doing some convert or some edition in the data. 3. What system does spatial data use in SQL server? I heard that it use GPS? True? If yes, is there different version?

q1. Please note what is the geometry type for your data? is it point data, arcs or lines, polygons?

q2. There are some flavors that are recognized as open-source. Most common is shapefile, which is actually a 7-10 files with the same filenames, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapefile

q3. GPS data exported from a device as a .gpx filetype can be used with many GIS software packages.
