While the GMAT and GRE may seem trivial (considering the material on them and its relevancy to most fields) - the quantitative metric derived from the test does show some graduate programs your dedication - in short - to prepare for, take, and excel at something outside of your domain.
We used it often on admissions panels for fast cuts in quant heavy programs (data analytics, MBA, math, physics, philosophy, etc.)
