Could I get a GED and go back to school to get my high school diploma?

You do not need to go back to high school once you have taken, passed and received your GED. The only drawback to GED vs, High school diploma is that the GED is not accepted overseas whereas a diploma is.

Otherwise the GED is accepted at most colleges and Universities in the USA
