There is not a specific word or page count that you're aiming for when you write the SAT essay. Instead, your focus should be on fully answering the prompt with specific examples and strong analysis. You want to keep in mind that you only have 50 minutes to write the essay; that is not a long time, so your essay won't be especially lengthy. That means you need to make the most of a limited amount of space. With that in mind, I'd recommend aiming for a brief introduction that leads into the thesis statement, two well-developed body paragraphs that provide evidence and analysis, and a brief conclusion.
