To convert a terminating decimal (a decimal that does not continue forever) to a fraction, put the number behind the decimal (5) in the numerator and a 1 with a number of zeros equal to the number of decimal places (one for this problem) in the denominator. Simplify the fraction if possible.
5
10
1
2
The equivalent fraction is 1/2.
