A huge problem is that Ancient Greek and Modern Greek pronunciation is different and English has inherited an odd mix of Modern and Ancient sounds. For example, the letter beta (Β β) used to sound like a B, but in Modern Greek it now sounds like a V. So now Modern Greek speakers use μπ (mp) to signify a B sound. Also, in Ancient Greek the letter zeta (Ζ ζ) sounded like ZD, but now it's just a Z sound.
How to write Isabella in Greek?
Is it Ιζαμπέλα or Ισαβέλλα? What is the difference? Thanks!
