You got seven numbers: 7, 12, 1, 7, 6, 5, 11
The mean is the average.
The median is the number at the middle after you rearrange the numbers from least to greatest.
So this is what you need to do to find the median:
Step 1, rearrange the numbers from least to greatest. 1, 5, 6, 7, 7, 11, 12.
Step 2, look at the middle number. What do you get? 7. So seven is the median.
Now this is what you need to do to find the mean:
Step 1, you add up all the numbers. 1+5+6+7+7+11+12= 49. So 49 is the sum of the numbers.
Step 2, this problem starts with seven numbers, so 7 is how many terms you have.
Step 3, sum of the numbers / how many terms you have= 49/7 =7 . So 7 is the mean.
