f(x) = 4x+8    and g(x) = -2/x

(F o G)(x) can be written as f(g(x)) so this means to place g(x) in for x wherever it is found in f(x)

 

We then get:

 

f(g(x)) = 4(-2/x) + 8

 

Plugging in 2

 

4(-2/2) + 8

 

= -4 + 8

 

= 4
