- pH paper shows only solution 3 to be strongly basic - SOLN 3 IS KOH
- When solution 3 is added to solution 1, a faint odor of ammonia is noticeable - SOLN 1 IS (NH4)2SO4
- Solution 1 forms a precipitate only with solution 4 - SOLN 4 IS Ba(NO3)2
- One drop of solution 3 added to solution 5 and to solution 2 gives precipitates in both cases. When more of solution 3 is added, the precipitate formed with solution 5 dissolves but the red-brown precipitate formed with solution 2 does not - SOLN 2 IS Fe(NO3)3 AND SOLN 5 IS CrCl3
- Solution 6 does not form precipitates with any of the others -SOLN 6 IS NaC2H3O2
