Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we must find the length of one side given the area of the given octagon to be 330 square yards. The formula of an octagon is
A = 2(1+√(2))a2, where a is the length of each side! We plug in the area to find the length of one side such that
330 = 2(1+√(2))a2 , then we distribute the 2 inside to get
330 = [2 + 2√(2)] * a2 ............We then divide [2 + 2√(2)] to both sides such that
a2 = 330/[2 + 2√(2)] = 8.267117865..........Then we square root both sides to obtain
a = 2.875 yards (approximately)
I hope this helped!
