P = 2l + 2w

46 = 2(x+3) + 2(x-4)

46 = 2x + 6 + 2x - 8

46 = 4x - 2.............Then add 2 to both sides

48 = 4x............Then divide 4 such that

12 = x

Now we can find the length and width such that

l = 12+3 = 15 cm

w = 12-4 = 8 cm
