You are paid a monthly salary plus commission at your sales job. Using data from two months, find the monthly salary (y-intercept) and commission rate (slope). Show all work using the equation editor.

1. Find the slope using the slope formula
2. Use your slope and one of the points to write the equation in point-slope form
3. Rewrite your equation in slope intercept form
4. Write a sentence that gives your monthly salary and your percent commission

slope =(5750-4750)/(250-150) (Ignore the right most 3 zeros in x.)

10 = (y-5750)/(x-250)

y = 10x + 3250 Remember x is measured in units of thousands!
