Perimeter calculation

The question is: What is the perimeter of the shape below (not shown) if each side is the same length? The answer choices are: 2mm, 4mm, 10mm and 20mm. The Answer Sheet said the answer is 20mm, but gives no explanation as to how they derived that.


Because there is no shape shown, I wondered if it is one of those questions that you have to know some esoteric geometry formula to solve--which I don't know.
