Calculate the sample standard deviation and Sample variance for the following frequency distrb if necessary round to one more decimal place than the largest number of dec places given in the data.

Data:

61-66 11

67-72 4

73-78 8

79-84 11

85-90 4

The 61-66 is the Class Column and the 11 is the frequency. The data is in a chart/table

Oh, sorry, It's a little unusual to calculate standard deviation based off a frequency distribution table - better to use the raw data. If doing it based on the Freq dist table, your TI-84 calculator can do it. 1) Enter the midpoints of the frequency bins (example: 63.5 for the first one) into List 1 2) Enter the frequencies into List 2 3) Use "stat", "calc", "1-Var Stats" 4) Use List 1 for the List 5) Use List 2 for the FreqList 6) Hit "Calculate" The Sample Standard Deviation (Sx) turns out to be 8.46867 so the Variance is that number squared or 71.718 Looks like you would just use one decimal in your answers based on the directions. Hope this helps.
