Hi Naveed,
Imagine having a bag of marbles. You don't know how many there are in there yet.
You are told that 20% are red which means the other 80% are not red.
You are now told that you have a total of 5 marbles in the bag (key word is 1 OUT OF 5 marbles).
Now you take your total marbles in the bag, in this case 5 and calculate 20% of that.
0.20 is 20% of 1, so you multiply 0.20 by 5 which equals 1.
Now you know there is 1 red marble and 4 non-red marbles OUT OF 5 total marbles.
What is the probability at least 1 out of 5 marbles drawn are red?
Probability is favorable outcomes divided by total outcomes.
There is 1 favorable outcome here (1 red marble) out of 5 total outcomes (5 total marbles).
The answer is 1/5 which is 0.20 or 20%.
I hope this made some sense and was helpful for you!
