Question

The sum of the measures of the angles of a parallelogram is 360 degrees. In the parallelogram on the right, angles A and D have the same measure as well as angles C and B. If the measure of angle C is nine times the measure of angle A, find the measure of each angle.

Let x be the measure of angle a and angle d.

Let 9x be the measure of angle  b and angle c.

 

The sum of all the angles is 360;

angle a +angle b+ angle c+ angle d= 360

   x      +9x         +x       +9x          =360

                   20x= 360

                     x=18

 

So, angles A and D are 18 each, and angles c and b are (18)(9)= 162 each

C = 9A

 

A + B + C + D = 360

 

2A + 9A + 9A = 360

 

20A = 360

 

360/ 20 = A

 

A = 18, D = 18,  C = 162, B = 162
