This would be the balanced equation IF this reaction actually took place. But it doesn't. However, we will proceed with the calculations as if this reaction could take place.
moles NaCl present = 30.0 g x 1 mole NaCl/58.44 g = 0.5133 moles NaCl
moles Na2SO4 produced = 0.5133 moles NaCl x 1 moles Na2SO4/2 moles NaCl = 0.2567 moles Na2SO4
grams Na2SO4 produced = 0.2567 moles Na2SO4 x 142.0 g/mole = 36.4 g (to 3 sig. figs.)
