Writing a business email to a new client you have been assigned to

Hi, I was wondering if you have to write an email to a new client you have been assigned to by your boss where it requires you to do an analysis on the decisions they're trying to make. Would you write an email introducing yourself and on and giving a brief explanation and saying refer to the attached file for the complete analysis? Or do you do the full analysis and explanation within the body of the email?

I would begin the email introducing yourself and explaining how you are going to work together on the project, ex. your role in the process. Then, I would attach the complete analysis. If you don't introduce yourself then the client might be confused and mistake your email for something else.
